Engaging to Prevent Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children

Did you know that children are being forced into the horrific world of sexual abuse and exploitation more than ever before?

Without informed, courageous and caring adults, young lives can quickly be trapped in the daily soul crushing moments of sexual abuse or trafficking, their bodies sold like a product for financial gain. The sexual exploitation of children is big business, billions of dollars annually, and a worldwide problem.

Whether in their own homes, schools, places of worship, or out in the community engaging in sports or other activities, children are growingly vulnerable, and they need protectors – everywhere!

Courage to Care is a two-day interactive training event for adults, especially parents and adults who work directly with children.

Attendees will learn to:

1. See would-be abusers and exploiters in action and spot the signs of traumatized children.
   
2. Help children who need to escape and heal from trauma
   
3. Create safer spaces where children go regularly.

Using real life stories of survivors, participants learn strategies any adult can use to facilitate healing of trauma and prevention of abuse including:

• warning signs and tactics used by traffickers
• the dangers of social media
• safe ways to intervene
• signs of trauma and common behaviors of children who are at risk
• safety guidelines and so much more!

The training is also a healing time for many participants whose own life stories include sexual abuse and exploitation.

Adults learn how unhealed childhood traumas affect workplace productivity, family relationships, and one’s general sense of well-being and are encouraged to journey to complete healing.

Courage to Care partners well with our Holding Esther audio drama, providing applicable resources to equip caregivers to provide the necessary support for children who have experienced sexual abuse and exploitation.
