Kerus Safehouse
Kerus Safehouse Protecting, providing and propelling; paving paths to help lead orphans from the plunders of scar filled survival to the heights of freedom filled thriving.
Sex-trafficking is a rampant evil that attempts to exploit the powerless who live in the most economically desperate communities of South Africa. As the Kerus family has laid deep community roots through the establishment of the Go Amogela Orphan Care Center, there arose a need calling us further into a prevailing effort to protect the vulnerable orphan from the clutches of those who would use and abuse them. With courage, in 2019 we answered the call to protect, provide and propel orphans forward.
This Kerus’ Safehouse Project provides nurturing homes for precious children whose lives are ripped apart by abuse. We have come alongside social workers and operated within the established professional guidelines of the South African government, and we now offer a haven of healing to the orphan in need who has undeservingly endured the horrors of abuse and/or sex trafficking. A safe, vibrant and loving family environment led by a full-time foster mother, and with other children who understand, provide support to wounded children to begin the healing process.
As we work in conjunction with social services to seek family-oriented long-term solutions, our children will be afforded the dignity to live in a loving and safe environment, stay in their school and continue connecting to friends and support systems at our after school orphan care center. Without such places, our orphans remain vulnerable to physical and emotional abuse as well as the real danger of dropping out of school or falling prey to sex traffickers.
Join us, while we create an atmosphere of hope-filled change for children in crisis, with the initiative to protect, provide and propel orphans forward into their God-given purposes.
